Abby and her friend exploring Greenwich

From incredible artworks and architecture, to cruising through the skies 90m above the Thames, Greenwich is full of amazing sights and surprises. Here’s how to have the perfect day exploring Greenwich; one of my favourite areas in London.

They have an amazing selection of arts and crafts and street food; the vendors are stunning. I would definitely recommend coming here either side of lunchtime, as it gets quite busy.

The market is open from 10am – 5.30pm 7 days a week and Bank Holidays.

The best ways to get to the market 👇

🚇 Take the DLR to Cutty Sark. If you take the Jubilee line to Canary Wharf you can change there.

🚶Greenwich Foot Tunnel – walk under the Thames!

🚌 Buses 129, 177, 188, 199, 286 and 386 go to Greenwich town centre.

⛴️ City Cruises, Thames Clipper and River Services all stop at Greenwich.

🌳 The grounds are open daily from 8am–11pm.

🎨 You can’t miss the Painted Hall

The painted hall

You can find this gem inside the Old Royal Naval College. This hall is one of the most beautiful rooms you will ever see, full of incredible artwork.

It’s known as ‘Britain’s Sistine Chapel’ for good reason. The floor to ceiling paintings mean there is no shortage of beauty to gaze at.

Ticket prices vary so make sure to book ahead. Find out more about the Painted Hall.

👑 Next up, head to the Queen’s House

The Queen's House

Following The Painted Hall you’re going to want to head to The Queen’s House. Not only is the building magnificent, it is home to some of the most famous paintings in the world including the iconic Armada Portrait of Elizabeth I.

It’s free to enter so absolutely worth adding to your itinerary as you explore Greenwich. Find out more about the Queen’s House.
