DLR30 – competition terms & conditions

The Promoter of the DLR 30 competitions (“the Competitions”) is Transport for London 42-50 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0TL. Entry is only open to UK residents aged 18 or over excluding employees of Transport for London, or any of their subsidiaries advisers, agents and/or anyone connected with the organisation of this promotion. If you are using your work computer you may need to obtain your employer’s permission prior to entering. The winner[s] will need to be able to provide proof of identity and age [with picture].

The Competitions begin on the dates in the following table (“the Opening Date”) and end at 23:59 on the dates in the following table (“the Closing Date”).

Entries to the Competitions must be submitted before the Closing Date.

In order to enter you must submit an email and it must be your original work.

To submit a type of entry you must send an email, as specified in the following list, to competitions@tfl.gov.uk. Any entry which is incomplete or submitted through an alternative method will be rejected.

Transport for London is not be responsible for late, lost or delayed entries or network, computer hardware or software failures of any kind that may delay or restrict entry into the competition.

Amount of entries: 1 entry per person per competition

Week 1

10 winners will receive 1 Family River Roamer ticket.

The winners will be the entrants who in the sole opinion of the judges submits the email that best meets the criteria: “Tell us why you love London’s river in 30 words or fewer”.

Week 2

1 winner will receive a pair of adult return tickets on the Emirates Air Line cable car plus a roof top experience voucher for 1 bottle of Ana de Codorniu Cava at  THE ROOF (valid until 23 September 2017, must be booked at least 3 days in advance).

The winner will be the entrant who in the sole opinion of the judges submits the email that best complete the line: “My favourite view in the world is…”

Week 3

1 winner will receive 1 family prize of 5 tickets (for 2 adults and up to 3 children) to the Tower of London.

1 runner up will receive 1 prize of 2 tickets to the Tower of London.

The tickets are valid until 28 February 2018.

The winner will be the entrant who in the sole opinion of the judges submits the email that best meets the following criteria: the name of your favourite historical figure.

Week 4

1 winner will receive 1 prize of the following: admission for 2 to the Cutty Sark; admission for 2 to the Royal Observatory, Greenwich; and a 3-course meal for 2 with a bottle of wine (manager’s choice) at the Rivington, Greenwich.

The winner will be the entrant who in the sole opinion of the judges submits the email that best meets the following criteria: the name of your favourite boat or ship.

Week 5

1 winner will receive a free lunch for 2 adults and 2 children at Rum and Sugar, the restaurant at the Museum of London Docklands. Prize to be taken on or before 3 September 2017.

The winner will be the entrant who in the sole opinion of the judges submits the email that best meets the following criteria: name the one old item you would like to find in the Crossrail tunnel dig site.

Week 6

Prize to be announced

The winner will be the entrant who in the sole opinion of the judges submits the email that best meets the following criteria: to be announced.

Week 7

Three winners will each receive a voucher redeemable for a brewery tour for 2 people. The winners will be the entrants who in the sole opinion of the judges submit emails that best meet the following criteria: “tell us the best tour you have been on”.

Week 8

One winner will receive a pair of tickets to see The Box of Delights at Wilton’s Music Hall during the dates 1 – 6 December 2017.  The winner will be the entrant who in the sole opinion of the judges submits the email that best meets the following criteria: “the name of your favourite Christmas show (theatre, film or TV).”

Your entry

Your entry must be your own work, must not be copied, must not have been published before in any other publication (or on any website), must not contain any third-party materials and/or content that you do not have permission to use, must not promote your own or third party goods or services or include any trade marks and must not promote inappropriate or dangerous behaviour, or otherwise be obscene, defamatory, distasteful, offensive or in breach of any applicable law or regulation. If we have reason to believe your entry is not your own work or otherwise breaches this paragraph, then we may not consider it and may disqualify it.

You will own the copyright to your entry. By submitting an entry to the Competition, you give Transport for London permission for your entry to be used Transport for London and you grant Transport for London a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use and publish your entry.

The winner or winner and runners up of each competition will be notified by email within 7 days of the closing date. The names of winner or winners will be made available upon if requested by email within 1 month of the closing date.

The winner or winners and runners up will be required to supply an address where prizes will be sent within 28 days of the Closing Date.

Winner or winners may be invited to take part in promotional activities, such as photography and feature in our publicity, including online media.

The judges’ decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prizes with a prize of equivalent or higher value in the event of circumstances outside of its control. There is no cash alternative to prizes.

Entry into the Competition implies acceptance of these terms and conditions. Transport for London reserves the right to refuse to award prizes to anyone found to be in breach of these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions are governed by English Law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts

This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with state ‘Twitter’ or ‘Facebook’.

Privacy statement

Transport for London, its subsidiaries and service providers, will use your personal information for the purposes of administering this competition, informing you if you have won and if so, issuing your prize. Your personal information will be properly safeguarded and processed in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.
