Baker Street station vintage design

The London Underground not only connects you to amazing things and activities to do in London but is something to explore in itself. 🤩

From historic and modern station designs to stations with a fun twist, here are some of our favourites to visit. Check in here regularly as we’ll keep this list updated with new stations and things to do and see. 👇

Iconic and historic 🤩

Baker Street

If you’re looking for iconic vintage Tube stations, Baker Street has it all!

Step off the Hammersmith & City or Circle line and you’ll be greeted with those beautiful arches 😍

Balham

Designed by Charles Holden, Balham station will brighten up your day (literally)!

Look up and hanging over the stairs to the platforms you’ll see a stunning chandelier 💡

Piccadilly Circus

Those distinctive colourful tiles at Piccadilly Circus can’t be missed!

But it’s also home to a memorial for Frank Pick, the mastermind of many of London Underground designs including the infamous roundel 🙌

Fresh and modern 👌

Westminster

Surrounded by some of the most famous buildings in London, including Big Ben and the House of Parliament, Westminster station is quite the contrast

The design is a combination of concrete and stainless steel and was voted by Londoners as one of the 10 favourite transport design icons in 2015! 👏

Canary Wharf

The curved canopies over the escalators at the entrance make Canary Wharf one of the most impressive stations to look at!

You’ll also find Jubilee Park situated between the two canopies above the station concourse, providing the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, even just for a moment 😍

Quirky and fun 🤪

Whitechapel

If you thought the Underground should be below the Overground, then Whitechapel station will have you confused 🧐

Clapham Common

Fun fact: Clapham Common is one of two stations with an island platform, but it’s also one of eight with a deep-level air-raid shelter beneath it 😮

Barking

We’re barking mad about seeing dogs on the Tube (see what we did there 😉). Whether they’re at Barking station or anywhere else on the network, we can’t resist a dog pun here and there!

Cockfosters

If you’ve ever played one of our emoji quizzes, you’ll know everyone’s favourite answer to any quiz is Cockfosters 😂. Despite having a funny name, it is also a stunning station to visit!
