Why cycle Lee Valley Artway
The Artway is perfect for a day trip. Hire a bike, relax on the River Lea or take a picnic and sit and soak up the stunning surroundings of the Glade.
There’s plenty for kids to do – there’s play sculptures like the Giant Chair to climb, lots of space to run around and explore, and there’s even a giant xylophone to try out!

About Lee Valley Park
Lee Valley has gone through an incredible transformation over the past 50 years. In the 1960’s it was a collection of scrap yards and industrial sites that has since been redeveloped into a vast, beautiful open space dotted with woods, wild flowers and lakes.

How to get here
If you’re coming by train, you can start the ride from Cheshunt or Waltham Cross station. National Rail’s planner lets you know where you can take your bike on the train.
There are bikes for adults and children available to hire from £6 at Lee Valley Canoe Cycle. The ride is flat and accessible to all, and has plenty of signposts and maps along the way.
